Fifty's Volunteer Day for a Sustainable Cause

The Fifty team doubled down in its commitment to sustainability this week with a company trip to Northampton, planting new trees to restore local environments.

The volunteer day was planned in partnership with Treeapp, a company that helps brands offset their carbon footprints by planting trees on sites all over the globe. Four enthusiastic planters took the journey up to Hideaway Farms to help create a new forest on the land. Once a landfill, the area is now a thriving farm with alpacas, horses, chickens, ducks, and the resident dog Luna, and our contribution will introduce even more wildlife and biodiversity to the area. By the end of the 6 hours, approximately 350 trees in 17 different varieties were planted, including Oak, Walnut, Hawthorn, Cherry, and Crab Apple.

As a Climate Positive Business working towards B-Corp certification, we take sustainability seriously. As of 2022, we’ve balanced 142.58t tonnes of carbon (110% of our emissions for 2021), while protecting biodiversity and supporting local communities, and days like this only scratch the surface of our mission for positive environmental change.

Here’s what Fifty’s CEO Simon Shaw had to say on the event:

“The day was short, but the future impact is massive and it’s amazing to have an opportunity to make a direct positive change as a company. Sustainability is in every aspect of our output, and it’s projects like this that help support our commitment to being a Climate Positive Business”

Of course, the rest of the Fifty team had plenty of testimonials to contribute as well:

“350 trees? I dont beleaf it!”

“Treemendous work x”

“We loved ‘branching’ out of our comfort zones!”
