Fifty Gets Flexified

A study from 2016 showed that just 8.7% of UK jobs advertised in 2016 provided scope for flexible working. Seven years - and a pandemic - later, the employment landscape is very different. The benefits of autonomy and flexibility for employees is something most can agree on, which is why we proudly advertise our policies to candidates. According to a 2022 study on flexible working by the University of Birmingham and the University of York, 76% of workplace managers believe that flexible working increases productivity and 94% agree that job advertisements should include the availability of flexible working. We’re inclined to agree!

Impressed by Flexa, a directory that helps people find truly flexible work, we made the decision to apply for verification and, as of now, we’ve got it! The process had us taking stock of all of the things we do to ensure workplace satisfaction for our employees, including flexible hours, a work from home budget to upgrade your home office, duvet days, a dog friendly office, and much more.

Once we’d made our company profile, it was down to the Fifty team to come through with their thoughts. We all filled out a fifteen point survey, covering everything from satisfaction with working hour flexibility and autonomy to location and work-life balance in order to get an idea of how our employees rated us across these points. Scoring an impressive 91% in working autonomy and highly across the board, we’re really proud of the result we achieved.

Flexa’s Flexible Working Champion Oliver Taylor had the following to say about us: ‘Fifty is an incredibly forward-thinking company. Their focus on employee wellbeing is amazing to see and clearly makes for a fantastic working environment.’ We couldn’t agree more - keep an eye on our careers page if you like the sound of what we do!
