When / how did you join Fifty?
I joined Fifty as an intern in January 2019 while I was still at university in Loughborough. I later became a full time employee that year once I’d finished my masters in Sports Marketing.
What is your role at Fifty and how has it evolved?
My growth at Fifty has been rapid - I’ve progressed from an intern to Partnerships Manager in just over two years.
My initial role as an intern started out very broad, so I quickly gained exposure to different aspects of the wider business. I started in Insights, working on things like running and naming studies, and gradually got involved with driving new business and leads. My passion has always been on the sports side of things, so I’m grateful to have been given the autonomy to work with clients in that area.
What has been your biggest success been at Fifty?
One of my proudest achievements was bringing in Liverpool FC after an 18 month sales cycle. As a diehard fan, that was a really big moment for me. On top of that, until then Fifty hadn't had a major league name within their portfolio apart from Fulham FC, so that win really demonstrated Fifty’s appeal to larger global brands and the strength of the partnerships team. I’ve also been lucky enough to work with some other impressive brands, including Pasta Evangelists and Pinter, and it’s been really rewarding to watch them grow into the brands they are today.
How has Fifty changed since you first joined?
Fifty has undergone a major transformation from small startup to a young, dynamic and fast-growing scale-up.
What are you looking forward to next?
I’m most looking forward to growing our international partners and cultivating the Partnerships team - I recently hired an intern and am now looking to hire for another full-time role. Partnerships were in their infancy within the business up until now, so I’m keen to see us go from strength to strength and carve out our own function within the business
What are your passions outside of work?
I’m a man of simple pleasures - I like football, exercise and reading. What motivates me is the business and industry. The best thing about Fifty is the people and the breadth of knowledge they bring - every day is motivating and offers a chance to learn something new.
